From fifth grade reporters Mahmed and Abdoul:
We got to see a Liberty game in Madison Square Garden. The New York Liberty played the Connecticut Sun. They gave us noisemakers to cheer for the Liberty. They won in overtime. This was the fifth grade senior trip and we had lots of fun!

Last Wednesday fourth and third graders went to Queens to see a Mets game. They played against the Nationals. We saw someone hit a home run and drank hot chocolate. We were screaming and clapping for the Mets!

This past Saturday, New York Cares and several kids from PS 208 went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to do a scavenger hunt. We saw a real Egyptian Temple from long ago. We saw a realistic shark that was modern art. It was so amazing with some cool exhibits!

Students at Alain L. Locke Elementary School visited the New York Historical Society’s exhibition on Lincoln in New York. Using items in the galleries as primary source documents, students examined and analyzed illustrations and portraits of the 16th president. Located on the Upper West Side, this museum has many family friendly exhibits and programs.

Located in Lower Manhattan, this museum offers free admission year-round. Fourth graders at Alain L. Locke study Native Americans as part of their social studies curriculum.

Class 5-235 recently visited the Museum of Modern Art. Students viewed various galleries and took part in discussions with a museum educator.
Each student received a free pass for their family to visit the museum.
