PS 208 Clean-Up

As part of their observance of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, students at Alain L. Locke Elementary participated in a community clean-up.  During their recess students at PS 208 made sure that their playground and schoolyard was free of litter.  A little bit of teamwork goes a long way!

PS 208 Celebrates Earth Day

Alain L. Locke Elementary hosted a school-wide celebration of Earth Day this past April.  Students shared their feelings about Mother Earth and watched portions of a documentary all about dirt.   DIRT! The Movie, tells the amazing and little known story of the relationship between humans and living dirt.

Central Park Conservancy

A presentation was given to third graders at PS 208 by the Central Park Conservancy.  Volunteers shared information about “one of the urban wonders of the world.” Students learned about the history of Central Park and the different animals that call it home.
