Spring Fling

This past Friday students at Alain L. Locke Elementary celebrated the conclusion of the dance residencies at PS 208 and the success of the Content in Arts Festival with a Spring Fling Dance. 
Thank you parents for the donations of juice and snacks that made this celebration possible!

Thank you Neuman’s Caterers!

Alain L. Locke Elementary School was treated with a special cake made just for us!  Neuman’s Caterers donated a beautiful carrot cake featuring our school logo in honor of last Thursday’s Content in Arts Festival.

Fifth Grade Ballroom Dance Showcase

Alain L. Locke’s Fifth Grade Ballroom Dance Showcase was an overwhelming success!  Families and fellow students watched as the fifth grade performed the foxtrot, merengue, swing and many more.  The event finished with audience participation that had everyone on their feet.  Thank you for coming out to support our students!

African Dancing

Third graders at PS 208 are learning African Dancing as part of their social studies unit on Kenya.  Students have been working with a dance movement educator in preparation for this month’s performance.  The Alain L. Locke Content in Arts Festival will take place on Thursday, March 25, 2010
