Million Word Readers

Congratulations to three hard working readers at Alain L. Locke Elementary School.  Fifth graders Sami, Luis and Isaac have all joined Accelerated Reader’s “Million Words Read Club.”  Over the course of the 2009-2010 school year these three students have finished enough books to read over one million words each!

Alain L. Save the Children Luncheon Event

Two of the top readers at Alain L. Locke were invited to attend a luncheon held at Harlem’s Harriet Tubman School on January 28th.  Sami and Erick met contest winners from across the United States at the event in addition to guests: Julianne Moore, Cokie Roberts and Randi Weingarten.
