The Alain L. Locke Magnet School for Environmental Stewardship participated in Bounty’s Teacher’s Wish List kick off event at Columbus Circle.

Principal Green was joined by PS 208 teachers, parent coordinator, PTA president, parents and students on Tuesday morning. Between teacher prizes and a generous donation to our school, we will be receiving over $5,000 of school supplies for the upcoming year. In celebration of their NYer of the Week, Andrea Wenner founder of the non-profit Out 2 Play, NY 1 visited PS 208.  Alain L. Locke Elementary was the recipient of a brand-new playground from Out 2 Play last year.   Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer also visited PS 208 as part of this celebration of NY1’s NYer of the Week!

Working on a special article about New York City’s reforms in public education, Brazilian reporter Antonio Gois made a stop at PS 208.  As an education correspondent for Brazil’s largest newspaper, Folha de S. Paulo, Mr. Gois interviewed administrators, teachers, parents and students to learn about Alain L. Locke Elementary.
