The Alain L. Locke Magnet School for Environmental Stewardship is committed to instilling in its 3rd-5th grade population a sense of personal pride, responsibility, and commitment to excellence, while simultaneously developing their awareness and comprehension on the complex meanings of sustainability and environmental stewardship. Using the latest technology to enhance learning, students will study a curriculum that focuses on environmental issues and will explore ways to critically evaluate the dimensions of these global challenges, create their sustainable ideology, and transform their environmental solutions into realities. They will learn to become social activists and discover the importance of their identity as part of the larger community and see the impact their actions have on the world around them.
With our new theme, comes new colors for our uniform for all students starting in September 2011 school year!
Our new polo shirts with the school logo will be “Kelly” or “Irish” GREEN and can only be purchased at the school for $14/each. Pants, skirts/jumpers can be purchased on your own and should be KHAKI color. Shirts will be available for purchase at the school beginning August 3rd. You may also send order form below back to school by September 1st.
Two orientation sessions will be held on:
Wednesday, AUGUST 3rd at 9-11am and 5-7pm to discuss the new uniform and new school theme.
